As you're narrowing down your choices, however, you might be wondering: do you need special sheets for your adjustable bed?

The answer is maybe. While you don't necessarily need “special” sheets, you'll want to look for a few specific features. These include:

• Split king sizing, if you'll be using a split mattress
• Durable fabric blends
• Helps reduce snoring
• Stay-in-place features, such as a built-in elastic band on the fitted sheet
• Deep pockets, with a bit of excess fabric to handle the constant movement

The Best Sheets for a Split King Adjustable Bed

Many people that invest in an adjustable base go for a split king style. If you're not familiar with what a split king is, it consists of two twin XL mattresses placed side-by-side. It's a top pick for couples, because each side of the bed can move independently. You can also select different mattresses for each side, if you and your partner have different comfort preferences.

If you'll be using a split mattress with your adjustable bed, we recommend getting some split king sheets.

With these sheets, you'll typically get 2 separate fitted sheets and a single flat sheet for the top. This allows each person to have their own fitted sheet without the hassle of constantly readjusting and tucking in your bedding.

The Best Sheets for a Queen Size Adjustable Bed

If you'll be using another size adjustable bed, such as a queen, you have a bit more leeway when shopping for the best sheets. Queen size adjustable bases will use standard queen size sheets, but you'll want to look for the same features that we mentioned above.

Those features, again, are:

• Durable fabric blends
• Stay-in-place features, such as a built-in elastic band on the fitted sheet
• Deep pockets, with a bit of excess fabric to handle the constant movement

All of these features will help your sheets stay on your adjustable base without popping off as you customize your positions. While we're partial to our GhostGrip elastic band, we've also seen some other solutions for this common problem. You can find fitted sheets that zip over the entire mattress, and you can also purchase straps (sometimes called “sheet suspenders”), which are sold separately on sites like Amazon.
