If you’re buying a mattress that is 12” profile or higher, you’ll likely want deep pocket sheets so you won’t have any trouble getting your fitted sheet to wrap around the edges of it. The excess fabric also means they’re less likely to pop off when you move around.

How Deep Are Deep Pocket Sheets?

Deep pocket fitted sheets typically start at around 15 inches on the sides, but can go as high as 22 to 24 inches, depending on the manufacturer.
