GhostBed Adjustable Base vs Tempur-Ergo Plus Review
Last Updated on November 20, 2024
Just as memory foam mattresses gained fame because of their comfort factors, adjustable bases are now in vogue for those seeking more bedtime contentment. An adjustable base allows for the bed to not only provide a better position for sleep, but also turns the sleep center into a reclining chair for ease of work and to simply relax.
Buying Options
One of the biggest differences you’ll come across when comparing the GhostBed Adjustable Base to Tempur-Pedic’s TEMPUR-Ergo® Plus is with the overall buying experience.
While Tempur-Pedic still relies mainly on brick-and-mortar stores for its products, here at GhostBed we primarily sell online, shipping our Adjustable Base right to your doorstep. Most notably, our model ships in a slim box—so not only is it easy to move, it allows for minimal cardboard waste and more efficient transportation from our factory to you.
With this ship-to-home convenience, you won’t need to be home at the time of delivery. If you need extra help with setup, however, we’ve got you covered with our add-on White Glove Setup option.
Price
It is obvious from first look that GhostBed is the clear winner when it comes to comparing price.
Materials/Durability
Both GhostBed’s Adjustable Base and the TEMPUR-Ergo Plus offer the same similar contemporary look, with a grey fabric cover and tubular legs. Both models include a steel retainer bar at the foot of the bed, but GhostBed upped the game by adding anti-skid decking to help keep your mattress in place at all times.
The TEMPUR-Ergo Plus has a lighter weight capacity (650 lbs), compared to the GhostBed Adjustable Base’s 750-lb weight limit. Additionally, our frame is 100% steel, making it incredibly durable.
Comfort and Features
Most customers are looking for added comfort when they purchase an adjustable base. While both the GhostBed Adjustable Base and the TEMPUR-Ergo Plus can offer this, there are a few key differences.
While both beds offer preset programs for common comfortable ergonomic positions, GhostBed has a total of six presets (including two customizable “memory” options) and the TEMPUR-Ergo Plus has only two. Both bases offer vibration massage units at the head and foot, with a variety of modes to choose from.
Warranty
The GhostBed Adjustable Base Limited Lifetime Warranty covers the steel and mechanical base parts for life if they are found to be defective, for added peace of mind. In addition, GhostBed offers a full one-year warranty on parts, labor and freight in which we will repair or replace any defective parts with no extra cost to you. The TEMPUR-Ergo Plus has a full three-year warranty but only a 15-year limited warranty.
GhostBed Adjustable Base is the clear winner with its lifetime warranty.
